I was really blown away to get this e-mail the other day. Its a great feeling to know that there are people out there who's visit to the shop is just the beginning of a life long adventure!
"Hi Raf -- You gave me a lesson & sold me a board (Jesus loves me) and I haven't missed a whole lot of paddling days since. Our pond gave me lots of opportunity to practice stuff and I've done SpurwinkRiver to Higgins, NonesuchRiver to Ferry Beach, and lots of dubbing around the cove at Ferry Beach at high tide, lately dodging ice mush. I was recently in Fla. on Captiva Is., paddled on the Gulf and on the inter coastal mangrove swamp - dolphins YES!- and I returned home determined to keep the mojo going. However, this morning I couldn't even get into the water, the wind oy. Tomorrow is supposed to be fine…. I'm just writing to say hi and thanks for this great gift. The only thing that would improve it would be good weather every day. I'm eager to try the Presumscot River (between dams) and wondering about events that'd be fun. My paddling partner - another customer of yours - and I went up the Fore River into the marsh and then took the tide back to Congress St. When I saw the water rushing under the bridge I decided to ride it, Mel made it through, but not on her board, and it took a minute for her to regain her board and meanwhile somebody called the fire dept. We made it to shore and slid up the marine mud bank to be greeted by 3 firemen wondering if we'd seen some kayakers struggling in the river. We owned that the only struggling that was going on was our own and that we were fine and thrilled to be saved. Well, whatever they thought about the mud smeared old ladies in black rubber, they kept it to themselves and we parted in good humor.
Hope things are good. Cheers"
